Government had in the past lodged similar protests with envoys of other countries, including twice with the US in recent times, for allowing their envoys to visit POK which, as India maintains, is under illegal occupation of Pakistan.

Pakistan Chaos: Nearly 1,000 Arrested in Demand for Imran Khan’s Release Amid Violent Clashes

In Pakistan, nearly 1,000 people have been arrested after violent clashes erupted during protests demanding the release of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan. The protests, which began over the weekend, escalated into violent confrontations with police in Islamabad. Khan’s supporters, including his wife Bushra Khan and senior political aides, stormed the capital's red zone, breaking through security barricades. Pakistani authorities conducted a large-scale operation with paramilitary forces to disperse the protesters. The police chief denied allegations of using live ammunition, although Khan’s aides claimed hundreds were injured and several protesters were killed. The protests, initially peaceful, turned chaotic, leading to multiple fatalities and a significant security operation.
