Government calls nominations for newly instituted national science awards
Sunday, 14 January 2024 Government has opened nominations for the newly instituted Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar (RVP), a national science award, covering various fields of science, technology, and innovation. Nominations can be submitted on the unified home ministry award portal until February 28. The awards, with no cash component, will be announced on May 11 and conferred on August 23. RVP includes four categories: Vigyan Ratna (lifetime achievements), Vigyan Shri (distinguished contributions), Vigyan Yuva-Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar (young scientists), and Vigyan Team (teams of scientists). A total of 56 awards will be given across 13 domains.
