Monday, 15 January 2024 Against the backdrop of a significant number of flights getting delayed and cancelled and passengers facing tough times, the regulator has come out with a set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
A deadly stampede during a 'satsang' in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras on Tuesday claimed the lives of 121 people. Many bodies were kept on blocks of ice at a government hospital while grieving relatives waited outside to take them home. The victims were part of a large crowd gathered for a 'satsang' by religious preacher Bhole Baba near Phulrai village in the Sikandrarau area. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Hathras to meet the injured and announced that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) would probe the incident. He also mentioned that Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) would be established to prevent such tragedies in the future.
