Gorakhpur's Gita Press, facing closure in 2015, now struggles to meet the demand for its Hindu scriptures. The surge in print orders for its publications, including the popular edition of Ramcharitmanas, is due to the upcoming consecration ceremony in Ayodhya. To cope with the demand, the press has uploaded Ramcharitmanas for free download and is considering expanding its facility. Production manager of the publishing house Ashutosh Upadhyay said the management has decided to install another printing press worth Rs 9 crore, which will increase capacity by over 20%.
