IndiaTimes Tuesday, 16 January 2024
Leopard attacks occurred in Uttarakhand, Chhattisgarh and Bahraich. A boy and a woman were killed in separate incidents. Several others were injured and are receiving medical treatment. Authorities believe the increased aggression is due to the breeding season. The Terai eastern forest division has seen an uptick in leopard attacks on humans, with authorities attributing the heightened aggression to the breeding season, when the big cats tend to venture beyond their usual habitats.
