Tribals with land rights must get PM-Kisan benefits: Government
Friday, 19 January 2024 Government has written to states to ensure eligible tribals with land rights under the Forest Rights Act (FRA) also get the income support benefit of Rs 6,000 per annum under PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. With the ministry of tribal affairs (MoTA) and agriculture monitoring closely, over the past three weeks around three lakh tribals and other traditional forest dwellers holding land lease rights under FRA have been linked to PM-Kisan.
Multiple farmer unions are organising a protest rally to support CISF constable Kulwinder Kaur, who allegedly slapped BJP MP-elect Kangana Ranaut at Chandigarh Airport. The rally, named the "Insaaf (Justice) March," is scheduled for June 9 in Punjab's Mohali, demanding that no undue action be taken against Kaur and calling for a thorough investigation into the incident.
