Railways suspends TTE who was seen slapping passenger in viral video
Friday, 19 January 2024 A deputy chief ticket inspector has been suspended by the divisional railway manager of Lucknow Division, North Eastern Railways, following a viral video allegedly showing the accused travelling ticket examiner (TTE) assaulting a passenger. The victim, identified as Niraj Kumar Yadav, a sleeper class passenger, can be seen pleading with the TTE to stop hitting him in the video. The TTE continued to manhandle another passenger who was recording the incident. The suspension was announced based on a preliminary investigation, and railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw expressed zero tolerance for such misconduct, confirming the TTE's suspension.
