Take steps against companies that have Chinese directors sans MHA nod, NSC tells government
Saturday, 20 January 2024 The National Security Council has red flagged Indian companies that have appointed Chinese nationals as directors without Union home ministry clearance. The ministry had changed the rules in June 2022 and said that MHA clearance was mandatory for nationals of countries sharing land borders with India before they were appointed as directors. As many as 27 appointments in 2022 and six in 2023 in various companies controlled mostly by Chinese nationals in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and New Delhi are under the central agencies’ scanner.
