New mosque in Ayodhya to be named after Prophet’s father
Sunday, 21 January 2024 Can a place of worship born out of a bitter and violent religious dispute become a site of inclusivity and reconciliation? Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation (IICF), which will build Babri Masjid’s replacement 25km from the old site, hopes so. To start with, they won’t name it after Babur the conqueror. Instead, it will be called Muhammad Bin Abdullah Masjid after the Prophet’s father. The idea is to make the 11-acre site at Dhannipur village a multicultural place of ‘dawa’ (medicine) and ‘dua’ (prayer).

In a significant religious event, over 1 lakh Tirupati laddus were dispatched by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) for distribution during the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya. However, the delivery of these sacred offerings has sparked controversy following allegations of adulteration. Concerns have emerged regarding the integrity of the laddus, particularly claims that they may contain animal fats. As devotees express outrage and demand accountability, questions loom over the quality of these cherished prasadams that hold deep religious significance. The TTD insists that the laddus were prepared using pure desi ghee, donated specifically for this occasion, but the scandal has left many questioning the trustworthiness of the offerings served at such a pivotal ceremony.

In the midst of a brewing scandal, the sacred Tirupati laddus are under scrutiny as allegations emerge of adulteration with beef and pork fat. Reports revealing that over 1 lakh laddus were sent to Ayodhya for distribution during the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony have intensified debates among devotees and the broader Hindu community.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's claims of animal fat being used in the preparation of these revered prasadam have ignited a fierce backlash, with YSR Congress Party leaders vehemently denying the allegations and defending the sanctity of the offerings. As social media platforms erupt with discussions, devotees express their outrage, calling for accountability and urging that their religious sentiments be respected. The controversy not only threatens the faith of millions but also raises questions about the integrity of religious practices and the potential political motives behind these allegations.
