Indian Navy responds to SOS call from merchant ship in Gulf of Aden
Indian Navy's INS Visakhapatnam, deployed in Gulf of Aden, responded to distress call from MV Merlin Luanda. INS Visakhapatnam deployed team and equipment to assist crew with firefighting efforts on the distressed ship. It is not yet ascertained what caused the fire onboard the ship. Some reports suggest that the ship might have been hit by a missile or a drone.
