Students wave black flags, Kerala governor stages sit-in protest, Centre sanctions Z+ security
Saturday, 27 January 2024
In a day of dramatic developments that are bound to worsen the already tense standoff between Kerala governor Arif Mohammed Khan and the LDF government, the central government intervened to provide the former with Z+ security, while chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan took a swipe saying Khan had lowered himself to the level of an RSS functionary. The Centre's decision came just hours after Khan, on his way to attend a function in the morning, got out of his car and confronted a group of SFI protesters waving black flags, at Nilammel.
