US issued record-breaking 1.4 million visas to Indians in 2023

The US embassy and consulates in India processed a record-breaking number of visas in 2023, meeting the unprecedented demands and cutting visitor visa appointment wait times. The embassy registered a 60% increase in applicants compared to the previous year. Indian students received over 140,000 visas, setting a world record for the third year in a row.
