Health policy panels over 8 decades dominated by men, doctors, and government health service representatives
Friday, 2 February 2024 Study reveals lack of diversity in key health policy committees since independence, with over-representation of men, government health service representatives, and doctors from Delhi-NCR. Post-2000, there was increased centralization and marginal improvement in gender diversity and representation from NGOs and non-medical academic institutions. However, women's leadership representation remains minimal despite comprising 40% of the health workforce.
