UPI in France: Indians can now pay in rupees at Eiffel Tower
Friday, 2 February 2024 The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has partnered with Lyra to enable UPI payments in Europe, starting with the Eiffel Tower. Indian tourists, the second-largest group of visitors to the monument, can now purchase tickets using UPI. NIPL aims to establish a global payment system and collaborate with financial institutions worldwide.
Indians visiting the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris now have a seamless way to purchase tickets - through the Unified Payments Interface, or UPI. This development comes courtesy of the NPCI International Payments Limited, as announced on Friday.
