Trial court erred, divorce nixed: Sessions court

A sessions court cancelled a divorce decree granted by a lower court to a Hindu couple and said marriage is a pious institution under Hindu law, where it is a sacrament and not a contract unlike in other belief systems. Insisting that courts should try for reconciliation, the court requested the couple to try to settle their disputes by going for mediation or through an alternative dispute redressal mechanism.
