Tamil Nadu governor refuses to read out address to House; leaves before national anthem
Tamil Nadu Governor R N Ravi greeted the members in Tamil and read out a couplet of Thirukkural in his address before expressing his inability to read the speech due to misleading claims. Ravi delivered a three-minute speech and then released a press release from Raj Bhavan stating that the government's traditional message "contained numerous passages with misleading claims and facts".
