Majerhat is country's sole Metro station above railway tracks, platforms

The Majerhat Metro station, an engineering marvel, connects Eastern Railway's Sealdah-Budge Budge section and a canal. It is the only Metro station in India with local trains running below. A technical paper on its design and construction was presented at Pune's Institution of Permanent Way Engineers.
