A day after the Centre notified rules for Citizenship Amendment Act, Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee launched a tirade against the law passed by Parliament in 2019, terming it an attempt by BJP to achieve a "fresh partition of Bengal", while her Tamil Nadu counterpart M K Stalin declared that his govt would not implement the legislation.
