Bengaluru water crisis: Govt bans use of drinking water for swimming pools

The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has banned the use of drinking water in swimming pools, imposing a penalty of Rs 5,000 for violations. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar criticized the BJP for politicizing the crisis and urged them to seek permission for water projects. BWSSB Chairperson highlighted Bengaluru's water requirements and assured sufficient supply until July. The state government has also banned the use of potable water for other purposes.
