SC refuses to stay law on appointing CEC, ECs

Supreme Court on Friday expressed reservations before declining to stay Chief Election Commissioner and Other Election Commissioners (Appointment, Conditions of Service and Term of Office) Act and pass an interim order to prevent appointment of election commissioners under the law. On Thursday, Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu were appointed as election commissioners.
