DSP held for sexual assault of minor house help in Assam

Golaghat district police have apprehended a deputy superintendent of police (DSP) for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor employed as a domestic worker at the officer's residence. The DSP, stationed at the Lachit Borphukan Police Academy in Golaghat, Assam, has had an FIR filed against him at Dergaon police station. Charges under Section 376 and 506 of the IPC have been levied against him following a complaint from the 15-year-old girl's family, as per police reports.
