Supreme court junks review plea, says ED must give grounds for arrest
Supreme Court on Friday refused to revisit its decision making it mandatory for Enforcement Directorate (ED) to furnish written grounds of arrest to an accused before taking him into custody and dismissed the Centre's review petition. The apex court had held that information must be provided to the arrested person to enable him to seek legal counsel and, thereafter, present a case before the court to seek release on bail.
