Assam govt announces localised public holidays on polling dates
The Assam government has declared local public holidays on April 19, 26, and May 7 for constituencies holding Lok Sabha polls. The Governor's order under the Negotiable Instruments Act of 1881 mandates these holidays for areas with polling on those dates. In the first phase on April 19, polling will take place in Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Kaziranga, Lakhimpur, and Sonitpur constituencies.
