MHA cancels FCRA licences of 5 NGOs

The Union home ministry revoked the foreign funding licences of five NGOs for violating the FCRA. The affected NGOs are prohibited from receiving foreign funds due to misuse. As of April 3, 2024, there are 16,242 active NGOs with valid FCRA licences, with Rs 55,741.51 crore received by 13,520 associations.
