Karnataka HC defines limits of Lok Adalat’s powers

Karnataka High Court's Kalaburagi bench ruled that Lok Adalat, despite judicial oversight, functions as a conciliator, not a judge. A case involving a compromise decree from 2007 was challenged, leading to the court setting it aside. Parties can still settle disputes amicably without court interference.
