He won a total of 647,445 votes, defeating the Communist Party of India's Annie Raja, who won 283,023 votes. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Sunday dismissed exit poll predictions, which projected a landslide victory for the BJP-NDA. He did so while making a reference to late Punjabi singer and rapper Sidhu Moosewala's song '295'.
