In HC, mother seeks custody of her abducted 'children' - a girl, cows, buffaloes & hens

A woman from Surat filed a habeas corpus petition in the Gujarat High Court seeking custody of her abducted daughter as well as her stolen livestock. Her advocate argued that since the animals were like children to her, custody should be granted. The court, however, expressed confusion over invoking habeas corpus jurisdiction for animals and directed the lawyer to remove the prayer for custody of animals and birds from the petition.
