Supreme Court suspends sentence of Congress MLA in Odisha in corruption case

The Supreme Court has put on hold the imprisonment of Congress MLA Mohammed Moquim in a corruption case. Justices Surya Kant and Dipankar Datta have asked the Odisha government to respond to Moquim's appeal against the Orissa High Court's ruling. Earlier, the High Court rejected Moquim's challenge to a vigilance court's decision, which sentenced him to three years in prison and imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 for corruption.
