DRDO develops country's lightest bulletproof jacket

DRDO's Defence Materials and Stores Research and Development Establishment (DMSRDE) in Kanpur has developed India's lightest bulletproof jacket, offering protection against the highest threat level 6 as per BIS standards. The jacket, tested at TBRL Chandigarh, withstood multiple hits of 7.62x54 R API ammunition. Its design features a front hard armor panel with a monolithic ceramic plate and polymer backing for comfort.
