Recognized as the tribal heartland of Rajasthan, Banswara appears to be the sole constituency across the nation where the Congress is actively campaigning against its own candidate and instead supporting the emerging BAP. Internal disputes within the longstanding party, disarray between its state and central divisions, and the reluctance of the high command led to a collaboration with the five-month-old BAP on terms set by the latter. Nevertheless, Congress' own candidate, Arvind Damor, continues to compete in the race.
