Arms cache intercepted by Assam Rifles on Myanmar border
Monday, 29 April 2024 () A large quantity of arms, ammunition and other war-like stores was intercepted on Monday by Assam Rifles in Mon district of Nagaland close to the India-Myanmar border. Assam Rifles conducted a search operation based on intelligence inputs in the early hours, resulting in the arrest of an individual and the confiscation of 11 mortar tubes (81mm).
The Visakhapatnam police claimed to have busted a cybercrime racket and arrested three consultancy agents for allegedly luring unemployed youths and sending them.. IndiaTimes
The pontiff also voiced concerns about the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza and expressed concerns about the welfare of Rohingya, thousands of whom have fled a bloody military crackdown in Myanmar.

Overnight, three medium-intensity explosions rocked a bridge in Manipur's Kangpokpi district, causing damage. The blasts occurred close to Sapormeina along National Highway-2, linking Imphal to Dimapur in Nagaland. Polling in 102 parliamentary seats across 21 states and Union Territories in the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections commenced at 7 am on April 19 and ended at 6 pm. Over 102 parliamentary constituencies in 21 states and union territories headed to the polling booth on Friday, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. West Bengal recorded the highest turnout till 5 PM at 77.57 per cent, followed by Tripura at 76.10 per cent. Voter turnout in Assam stood at 70.77 per cent, while Manipur recorded a voter turnout of 68.58 per cent till 5 PM.
