3 held for setting forest on fire in bid to get more social media 'views'
Sunday, 5 May 2024 Chamoli district police have arrested three men from Bihar for allegedly starting a forest fire in the district's Gairsain area, approximately 260km from Dehradun, and uploading a video of the incident on social media to "get more views". The arrest was done on Saturday evening after police took suo-motu cognisance of the video making rounds online, officials said.
