India and France have initiated their joint 'Shakti' combat exercise in Umroi, Meghalaya, aiming to strengthen bilateral defence cooperation and enhance peace in the Indo-Pacific region. The exercise focuses on multi-domain operations in semi-urban and mountainous terrain, involving contingents from the Rajput Regiment and the French 13th Foreign Legion Half-Brigade.
