Trinamool Congress lodged a complaint with the Election Commission against BJP's Tamluk candidate Abhijit Gangopadhyay for misogynistic remarks towards Mamata Banerjee at a campaign rally in Chaitanyapur, East Midnapore. State finance minister Chandrima Bhattacharya condemned Gangopadhyay's derogatory language. Mamata Banerjee, campaigning in Haldia, did not address the issue.
