Indian students injured in mob attacks in Kyrgyzstan
Saturday, 18 May 2024 Indian students in Kyrgyzstan, in fear are scared for their lives, as locals have targeted them in Bishkek. They have shut themselves up in their accommodation but during a stone pelting incident the window panes were damaged. In a desperate call for help, the Indian community called up the Indian embassy late on Friday night. An Indian student pursuing his medical studies told TOI from Kyrgyzstan that the vandals had also entered two universities, apart from targeting Indian and Pakistani students for attacks in Bishkek.

According to Azerbaijan Airlines, 37 passengers were Azerbaijani citizens. There were also 16 Russian nationals, six Kazakhstani and three Kyrgyzstani citizens.

A devastating plane crash occurred near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan, involving an Azerbaijan Airlines Embraer 190 passenger jet en route from Azerbaijan to Russia. The aircraft, carrying 67 people, including 62 passengers and five crew members, crashed during an emergency landing attempt. Kazakhstan’s authorities confirmed that 32 survivors have been rescued from the wreckage. The tragic crash has sparked widespread concern, with details of the passengers’ nationalities now disclosed. According to the official passenger list released by Azerbaijan Airlines, 37 of the passengers were from Azerbaijan, 16 from Russia, six from Kazakhstan, and three from Kyrgyzstan.
