A 27-year-old sexual assault survivor in Mumbai, approached Bombay high court seeking permission for Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) beyond 24 weeks. Thane Civil Hospital's medical board stated continuing the pregnancy may lead to complications like anaemia and hypertension, with a risk of the baby being born deformed.
