ICMR and NIN released new Dietary Guidelines defining ultra-processed food (UPF) and foods high in fat, sugars, and salt (HFSS), highlighting their harmful effects. FSSAI's challenges in regulating UPF and HFSS due to undefined terms may now be addressed. NAPi seeks regulations for labelling and marketing of UPF and HFSS foods to reduce consumption.
