Phase 5 of the Lok Sabha elections, recorded the lowest overall turnout at 62.2%, yet marked the first phase where female voter turnout (63%) surpassed male turnout. Despite low turnout across all genders, West Bengal led with 78.4% participation. The EC celebrated the increased female engagement, aligning with its efforts to enhance women's electoral participation. Urban areas in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh showed notably low turnouts. Phase 6 will proceed with 58 constituencies on Saturday, followed by the final phase on June 1.
