Payal Kapadia's 'All We Imagine as Light' wins Grand Prix award at Cannes 2024
Saturday, 25 May 2024 Payal Kapadia on Saturday scripted history by becoming the first Indian filmmaker to win the Grand Prix award at the Cannes Film Festival for her film "All We Imagine as Light". The film bagged the award, the second-most prestigious prize of the festival after the Palme d'Or, which went to American director Sean Baker for "Anora".
The Critics Choice nominations are here and 'Conclave' and 'Wicked' lead this year's nominees. Both films earned 11 nods each, including the top prize of best picture. 'Dune: Part Two' and 'Emilia Pérez' each landed 10 nods, followed by 'The Brutalist' with nine and 'Anora' and 'The Substance' with seven nominations each.

The 2025 Golden Globe nominations are finally here, and 'Emilia Pérez' and 'The Bear' are leading the pack! 'Emilia Pérez' scored 10 noms including best supporting actress nods for Selena Gomez and Zoe Saldaña as well as a lead actress nod Karla Sofía Gascón. This was followed by 'The Brutalist' with seven noms, 'Conclave' with six, and 'Anora' and 'The Substance' with five each.
