Saturday, 25 May 2024 Bengal witnessed brisker polling pace till 5pm on Saturday in the penultimate phase, marred by the murder of a Trinamool Congress worker in East Midnapore's Mahisadal and near fatal attack on another. Poll-day demonstrations against BJP candidates occurred in Keshpur and Egra.
Recent bypolls across seven Indian states resulted in significant gains for the opposition INDIA bloc, which won 10 out of 13 assembly seats.
