Madhya Pradesh STSF seizes exotics in India's first rule 49 M enforcement

The Madhya Pradesh State Tiger Strike Force (STSF) confiscated an iguana and an emperor scorpion after conducting a raid at a residence in Dewas. This action signifies the initial implementation of Rule 49 M of the revised Wildlife Protection Act (1972). Both species, which are included in Appendix II of Schedule IV of the Act and CITES regulations.
