Shocking bail not given in magistrate-triable case: Supreme Court

Supreme Court on Monday expressed deep anguish over Calcutta high court denying bail to a trustee of South Point Education Society, one of many areas of tussle between the Birla and Lodha groups, and said the case reflected a "shocking state of affairs" as the HC denied bail even in a magistrate-triable case.
