Agnikul: From IIT-M brainchild to space odyssey

Agnikul Cosmos, a startup incubated at IIT-Madras, was founded in 2017 by Srinath Ravichandran, Moin S P M, and Professor S R Chakravarthy. Aiming to make space accessible and support India's self-reliance vision, the company raised $40 million, including a significant $26.7 million in 2023. They developed the patented 3D-printed Agnilet engine and signed agreements with ISRO for development support.
