K Kavitha gave Rs 100 crore kickback to AAP leaders: ED on 'Rs 1,100 crore' excise policy case
Monday, 3 June 2024 The Enforcement Directorate (ED), in a supplementary chargesheet against K Kavitha, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and daughter of Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao, has alleged that she paid a kickback of ₹100 crore to the leaders of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in connection with the Delhi excise policy case. The agency also said that more than Rs 1,100 crore was laundered in the alleged Delhi excise scam.
K. T. Rama Rao (KTR), the Working President of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and Sircilla MLA, was summoned by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for questioning in connection with the Formula-E race case. However, his advocates were not permitted to accompany him, leading to his return from the ACB office. The investigation, which relates to allegations under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, and the Indian Penal Code, has sparked a legal dispute. KTR has challenged the procedural issues of the FIR and petitioned the Telangana High Court, urging that the summons be deferred until the court’s verdict. Meanwhile, ACB is set to issue fresh notices for further questioning.
