Both leaders have persistently advocated for special category status for their states, which experienced bifurcation. In Andhra Pradesh, Naidu's TDP and Jagan Mohan Reddy's YSRCP have consistently highlighted this issue, with Congress also making the same promise in the recent assembly elections.
