My caste voted mostly for BSP but Muslims didn’t: Mayawati
Wednesday, 5 June 2024 Jatavs, the core of BSP’s vote base, stood by it in the Lok Sabha elections but Muslim voters didn’t despite being given a choice of candidates representing the community, party chief Mayawati said Wednesday in her first response to drawing a blank in UP.
Voting for the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha Elections in the country is underway. In this phase, voters in 49 seats across 6 states and 2 union territories will exercise their right to franchise.
Former Uttar Pradesh CM and BSP chief Mayawati voted in Lucknow, urging everyone to vote and political parties to focus on development and welfare. She expressed hope for change, sensing public discontent and anticipation for a power shift.
