Retired Punjab DIG, ex-DSP held guilty of 1993 fake encounter

On Thursday, Special CBI court judge RK Gupta convicted former Punjab Police DIG Dilbagh Singh and retired DSP Gurbachan Singh in a 1993 fake encounter case. This conviction has come after 31 years of the incident. The sentencing for the two former police officers is scheduled for Friday. Advocate Sarabjeet Singh Verka noted that the case was initiated by the CBI following a complaint by a man named Chaman Lal.
