Lok Sabha election results: In 72 UP seats, BJP got less votes in 2024 than in 2019

The BJP experienced a significant decline in its vote share in Uttar Pradesh, dropping from 49.6% in 2019 to 41.4% this time. In 72 out of the 75 constituencies it contested in both elections, the number of votes it received decreased by a few thousand to 220,000. Overall, the BJP polled about 6.5 million fewer votes in Uttar Pradesh, even as the total number of votes cast in the state increased.
