This was the first time that no Muslim MP has been sworn in as a minister following the election. Notably, the outgoing council of ministers did not include a Muslim minister after Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi was not re-elected to the Rajya Sabha. Historically, the council of ministers sworn in after each general election included at least one Muslim MP.
