Every fifth immigrant doctor in US is an Indian

India is the top source country when it comes to immigrant physicians and surgeons (doctors) working in the US and the second-largest source country for registered nurses. In terms of the total number of immigrant healthcare professionals working in the US, including home health aides and nursing assistants, India dropped to third place, after the Philippines and Mexico.
